Legendary blues guitarist T-Bone Walker was not only one of the most influential musicians to rise up from the fertile Texas blues scene, but his impact on blues guitar worldwide cannot
be understated. While historians argue whether T-Bone, Charlie Christian, or Eddie Durham was truly the first electric guitarist, about one thing there can be no debate: T-Bone Walker is the source of single-note, horn-type blues soloing.
This release presents one of Walker’s most difficult to find albums: The Great Blues Vocals and Guitar of T-Bone Walker. It was originally released by Capitol Records in late 1962, and has been long unavailable on CD or vinyl. The LP consists of lesser known earlier selections, taped between September 1946 and December 1947.
Highlights include „Call It Stormy Monday”, „T-Bone Shuffle”, „Bobby Sox Blues” and „Go Back to the One You Love”. In addition to the original album, this remastered collector’s item contains 4 bonus tracks, among them some of T-Bone Walker’s most difficult
to find numbers recorded during the early 1950s. These early gems constitute the building blocks of T-Bone Walker’s musical legacy.
