„2000 A.D Into The Future” is a collection of virtuoso digital and analogue keyboard playing by Rick Wakeman. Completely instrumental. The music represents very wide ranging thoughts for the future and was originally conceived for a series of futuristic films for a festival, where it met with great critical acclaim. We are very pleased to present it now as a truely rare collection of pieces orchestrated in a way that has made Wakeman stand out amongst keyboard players for over 20 years.”
Rick Wakeman is one of the most interesting and idiosyncratic musicians from the prog-rock genre, an English keyboardist, songwriter, television and radio presenter, and author. He is best known for being in the progressive rock band Yes across five tenures between 1971 and 2004 and for his solo albums released in the 1970s. Most recently, he has been a member of Yes featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman. There’s always been something mythic and larger than life about Wakeman, and so it is not particularly surprising that he turned his hand to interpreting the iconic 2000 AD comics, the weekly science-fiction oriented magazine, most noted for its Judge Dredd stories.
