Once a band whose notoriety rested heavily on the „members of” angle, PLANET ON A CHAIN has become a mainstay of the Revelation Records roster. An interstate outfit featuring four members from Northern California’s volatile hardcore-punk scene and a vocalist from Texas by way of New Jersey, whose combined output totals over a century of playing in some of the most urgent and forward-thinking bands of their respected eras. POAC does not sound like a band that is ready to phone in their sound. Instead, the songwriting members have remained as tuned in as ever to the ever-evolving world of fast hardcore, producing an ongoing assault on the senses: lightning fast riffing and frantic drums that never cheat, with fills that border on the impossible.
With the global West descending into private corporative fascism and an American government hell bent on strengthening the police state and spreading egregious disinformation by the state, the timing is as urgent as ever for PLANET ON A CHAIN to deliver another album on Revelation Records. With two LPs and an LP’s worth of re-recorded demo material already available, POAC delivers a new dose of fast, politically fueled hardcore punk that is as relevant now as ever.
The song „Mangled and Twisted” discusses the ongoing nightmare of landmines used in ground warfare and the terror they continue to force communities to suffer through years after a conflict has ended. „Poor Excuse” was written about the platforming and making a celebrity of those who carry out or attempt to carry out acts of violence against others and escaped consequence under the guise of „self defense”. „Reveal The Worst” delves into the desensitization of the public after years of armed actions, diminishing outrage to heinous acts being carried out in Gaza in the present day.
PLANET ON A CHAIN unveils Ritual Routine, hot off the heels of tours on the East Coast with DROPDEAD, West Coast with DRY SOCKET and DESTINY BOND, and solo runs in Japan, Europe, and beyond with more shows planned after the release of the record. So long as there are topics that need to be discussed, PLANET ON A CHAIN will continue to discuss them. There is no end in sight for the self-inflicted pain the human experience endures and there is equally no end in sight for PLANET ON A CHAIN.
