Serving as the direct successor to 2022’s “Omen”, the new album is inspired by the 1978 cult horror classic “Damien: Omen II”. Continuing the apocalyptic storyline established on its predecessor, “Omen II” follows the rise of Damien Thorn as he fully embraces his destiny as the Antichrist. More than simply a tribute, “Omen II” functions as a complete horror-metal soundtrack to the film itself, capturing its paranoia, violence and apocalyptic atmosphere through massive riffs, haunting melodies and cinematic tension.
Expanding upon the sound of its predecessor, “Omen II” delivers darker atmospheres, sharper songwriting and some of MALAMORTE’s most memorable choruses to date. Influences ranging from King Diamond, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath and Death SS remain ever-present, yet the sound is unmistakably MALAMORTE – dark, catchy, epic and malevolent. “Omen II” stands as another towering achievement in modern horror metal.
