Trilok Gurtu (born in 1951 in Bombay) as a son of Shobha Gurtu is a percussionist and vocalist from India, now based in Hamburg, Germany. He names John Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown and The Supremes as early influences while still living in India, he first started travelling western countries in 1973.
