’The Dip’ is debut of experimental pop trio Delish – a trio consisting of three fairly known names on the Norwegian alternative/experimental/jazz scene. Natali Abrahamsen Garner, Johan Lindvall and Magnus Skavhaug Nergaard have put together a truly mesmerizing work playing with pop elements just as much as they take us further out on sound excursions the trio’s members might be more known for in other projects. ’The Dip’ is a varied release combining filmatic soundscapes, field recordings and impressively beautifully dreaming alternative pop tracks with Garner’s enchanting vocals floating on top of otherworldly melodies and hypnotizing beats. A voice that carries a force that makes us listen even when the melodies aren’t present, and the words are uttered with a sincere calm. An art project with a sense of pop melodies makes the debut more accessible to a broader audience – even at its most experimental. A rare quality we should embrace.
After releasing the single ”Eden” in 2018 (Earthly Habit) the duo then containing of Natali Abrahamsen Garner and Johan Lindvall were booked for by:Larm 2019. Since then the duo joined forces with long-time collaborator Magnus Skavhaug Nergaard to complete the line-up as the work towards ’The Dip’ began. Collectivly the band has an impressive background from the Norwegian alternative music scene, including own projects such as Propan, Johan Lindvall Trio, Natali being a part of Susanna and the Brotherhood of Our Lady and Natali and Johan’s participation on Jenny Hval’s new and internationally acclaimed album, Andreas Røysum Ensemble, Torg and Signe Emmeluth’s Bonanza of Doom – to mention a very few examples of many…
