A 2 CD set released at MID PRICE of material recorded in the 1950 s MOSE ALLISON is one of those musicians that is hard to categorise. His boogie woogie and be bop laden piano style is innovative and fresh sounding when it comes to blues and jazz, it is as a songwriter that he really shines He has been admired and influenced everyone form THE ROLLING STONES to VAN MORRRISON and his songs have been covered by THE WHO, LEON RUSSELL amongst many others Disc 1 on this set focus on his song writing, while Disc 2 highlights his instrumental prowess. There have been a number of features in music magazine such as MOJO and RECORD COLLECTOR recently and this re issue aims to tap into that new Interest.
