Worthless is a determined death metal band from Tampere, Finland. The trio was formed in 2009 as a natural successor to the Celtic Frost / Hellhammer tribute band Nordic Frost (2008-2012), and patiently established itself by releasing a two song demo in October 2012.
„Grim Catharsis” was released November 6th, 2015 via Finland’s Ranka Kustannus. On „Grim Catharsis” the band takes a step forward in every aspect. While there still is an association to the direction of Celtic Frost, the influence is not a burden but a resource, as the band comes to its own sounding robust and thoroughly persistent.
With „Grim Catharsis” Worthless provides a strong offering of old-school death metal in which a crisp soundscape meets irresistible groove. The hammering, forceful riffs and catchy melodies team up for an unrelenting union, in which weak links are nowhere to be found.
