Third album from London post-punk trio Witching Waves!
Witching Waves have been an ever-present force in London’s DIY scene since 2013. Founded by Emma Wigham (drums / lead vocals) and Mark Jasper (guitar / vocals), the band are known for their frenetic live shows, relentless tour schedule, and their distinctive nouveau post-punk sound.
Their third record, “Persistence”, is a powerful and unrelenting effort that charts the band’s path since 2016. Featuring their trademark melodic hooks interwoven with angular guitar riffs and propulsive drums, “Persistence” features a particular sense of urgency and assertiveness that coincides with the band’s period of transition since their last album, “Crystal Cafe”. “Persistence” was written and recorded at Sound Savers; a studio co-run by Witching Waves’ guitarist Mark Jasper. Sound Savers was very much a hub for the London DIY scene, where bands like Sauna Youth, Dream Nails, Trash Kit, and Slowcoaches recorded their pivotal works.
