The group Witch was born from a marriage of apparently contradictory influences. J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. and his longtime friend Dave Sweetapple were interested in forming a hard rock band. This album is a Stoner Metal masterpiece. Had a LOT of groovy, weird times to this album over the last 10 years. This album, simply titled WITCH is the breed of classic sharp metal that most bands don’t know how to make any more. With this album, the band really puts themselves on par with legendaries like Priest and Sabbath, but with a fresh feel that will make those guys sound like a thing in the past. No offense to them, they are legends,,, but WITCH has taken that old doomy garage metal sound and pumped it up.
