The first part of the „Future Sounds Of Jazz” series was released in 1995, the eleventh and final part to date in 2007. These tracks – especially the slow pieces, like many a sound – are more reminiscent of the first compilations of the first compilations. After label maker Michael Reinboth put together the last installment in 2007, he, like many others, fell victim to disco, edit and deep house fever and so it took until 2010 / 2011 for the idea of a new album to mature again. Good tracks and interesting projects appeared again, reminiscent of the aesthetics, sound and feel of the early 90s.
The „Future Sounds Of Jazz” series was repeatedly voted one of the „best compilations” / „best of all time” in various magazines such as Groove, XLR8R, Raveline, DJ Mag, Mix Mag, Trax, Source, DJ Broadcast and Jockey Slut Compilations”.
