After four studio albums and years of intensively touring, it was time for something different. During the writing sessions of „Colossus” Triggerfinger wanted to add a new flavor to their trademark recipe. „We wanted to leave the rat race for just a bit.” – states Ruben Block. „Before we were working together with some – external – musicians that took us out of our comfort zone, which made us think in a different way about our songs.
As a second step we built our own small studio, where we were able to work 24/7.
However, we wanted to do more than just that. The previous albums were all about
energy, the live interaction between all three members. That was not our focus: the song comes first. „Everything is possible” is our motto. Acoustic instruments, samples, keyboards, percussion, two bass guitars: as long as they fit the song.
