A live album is one of the most naturally born ideas of our twenty-year journey. In 2022 we had only decided to rent a mixer for the «Videogame» tour. The possibility of recording each concert enticed us, and we found ourselves, at the end of the tour, having 34-35 setlists from which we could prepare a real true live album. And it is precisely around this word, «true», that we resolved all doubts: there had to be nothing fake, re-recorded or overdubbed, we had to choose the best songs, «clean» the tracks and mix them. The moral diktat of representing who we are live, with music, determination, jokes, goliardic nonsense, the warmth of the people, all this had to be preserved and therefore «true», not perfect or artificial, true.
Another aspect we are proud of, is that it is a real DIY project, in which the entire Talco family collaborated: from our sound engineers Matteo «Houdini» Piccolo – who recorded all the live performances of the tour – and Edoardo «Dodi» Pellizzari (Overdrive Recording Studio), who mixed the album, up to the contribution of the band who worked for more than a month in the studio, editing all the tracks recorded in a year of European tour.
We never thought we’d do another live album, but maybe, after another 10 years, we needed it. Many bands reach a goal by thinking of a celebratory collection, but the Greatest Hits of a live band can only be a live album. And here we are, 20 years into our career, celebrating our dream with an increasingly complete tracklist. Always remembering that a goal is not the end but a new path to travel!
