Sore Throat was an influential British hardcore punk and grindcore band that emerged in the late 1980s.
Known for their raw, chaotic sound and uncompromising anti-establishment attitude, the band became a cult name within the underground extreme music scene.
Their early recordings included the „Aural Butchery” demo (1987) and the „Who Killed Gumby” demo (1987), both of which showcased their fast, abrasive style and politically charged lyrics.
In 1988, Sore Throath released the „Death To Capitalist Hardcore” EP, a record that challenged both mainstream society and the commercialization of the hardcore punk movement.
The EP became one of the band’s most recognized releases and reflected their outspoken DIY philosophy.
They left a lasting impact on the development of grindcore and extreme hardcore.
Their recordings continue to be appreciated by collectors and fans of underground punk and extreme metal for their intensity, originality, and uncompromising spirit.
