„The storm bells chime” is the music for all the raging storms flickering out into the great nothing that make our lives. Conceived by SOL-founder Emil Brahe and brought into being through a collaboration by four selected members of black metal, punk rock and electronic ambient projects in Aarhus, Denmark.
Created with synthesizers, piano, twang guitar and manipulated sounds recorded at the harbour of Aarhus as well as vocals by three vocalists including throat singing and gregorian chanting.
The result is an emotionally and atmospherically charged album crossing genres around dark doom metal, esoteric drones and neofolk. The lyrics reflect on loss and childhood and how the two interact when one grow older and succumbs to loathing.
