On the occasion of the release of „Dreams” in 1986, the magazine „Music Shop” wrote favorably: „What Klaus Schulze does here has the greatest chance of being celebrated as classical music one day.”
In addition to Schulze-typical stylistic elements, KS listeners can also expect some unusual ingredients on this album. A look at its genesis quickly reveals the reason: The tracks were recorded during a relatively spontaneous studio session, with musicians whom Schulze found congenial but hardly knew. The contact came about through a certain Andreas Grosser. At that time he was working for Hausmann-Elektronik in Berlin, where Schulze often bought his studio equipment. In this context Schulze also got to know the group Alphaville, which he later produced.
The reissue of „Dreams”, for which the label MIG is responsible, resembles the re-release already released in 2005 in a stylish digipack, including a 20-page booklet and the bonus track „Constellation Andromeda”. The latter is a recording from 2003, which Schulze composed on an analog synthesizer for an exhibitor at the Frankfurt Music Fair.
