Consider one of the founding fathers of the New York Folk scene, Van Ronk studied with previous generation folk, blues and jazz performers and became a legendary presence in the iconic clubs of New York’s Greenwich Village during the Beat era.
Over 30 albums of Dave’s exist, but there has never been a live album from him at the peak of his powers. Rockbeat presents this 2 CD set which will be a must for fans as well as a great introduction to his artistry to others.
Van Ronk was the inspiration for the title character in the 2013 film Inside Llewyn Davis by the Coen Brothers. Van Ronk befriended and promoted the up and coming artists of the day including Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton and Joni Mitchell.
