One could certainly argue that no spiritual jazz musician spread more healing, inspiration, exhilaration, and closeness to the Creator through their live and recorded music over the years than the great tenor saxophonist Pharoah Sanders if for no other reason that he did so at such a high level for over 55 years before his recent earthly departure. This recently issued 80-minute live recording from a January 1983 performance at the great Sweet Basil jazz club in New York is a wonderful example of the power and healing of his live performances.
