With his fourth album for Blue Note, „The Myth We Choose”, the brilliant South African pianist, composer, healer and philosopher Nduduzo Makhathini explores how different cultures tell their own myths through song. The album, produced in collaboration with his son Thingo Makhathini, breaks Makhathini’s distinctive sound with a wide range of sonic arrangements by bassist Dalisu Ndlazi, drummer Lukmil Perez and other contributors such as Black Coffee, Shabaka, Omagugu, Thando Zide and Muneyi.
