Cathy Lemons and Phil Berkowitz (The Lucky Losers) join forces with producer Kid Andersen on their 2025 release, Arrival. The record is a fearless mix of gospel, blues, soul, and Americana — music that speaks to today’s struggles while echoing timeless themes of love, resilience, and survival. The blistering “S-C-A-M” takes aim at greed and exploitation, while “Pull On The Rope” channels gospel fire into a plea for unity and hope.
Berkowitz’s “Sunday Stroller” offers a cinematic portrait of a sly, restless dreamer, and the “Beatlesque” groove underscores the irony. Cathy Lemons delivers an unflinching anthem of solidarity with survivors in “I Believe Her,” while “Pig Iron Tough” proclaims the endurance of a true road warrior. From the New Orleans swagger of “Sorry Brother” to the Memphis soul of “Don’t Let It Slip Away” and the playful „Ain’t the Marrying Kind,” a blues duet, Arrival stands as The Lucky Losers’ best.
