On this 2-CD live recording, Albert Lee and his crack band (including the amazing Pete Winfield on piano/keyboards) predictably put on an impressive display of their musicianship, while offering some great tunes in the process. The material ranges from country-rock material to more blues-influences tunes. Lee handles all the vocals and he sounds as good and tuneful as he did 30 years ago.
Lee and his band can tear it up on tracks such as „Let It Roll,” „Rock Around With Ollie Vee” or the set’s closer, „Tear It Up.” And they can also slow it down and tastefully pull off melodic gems such as „On The Boulevard”, „Country Comfort” or the radiant Rodney Crowell song „Til I Gain Control Again.” No matter what the tempo or what style they are playing, this is masterful music. Any fan of Albert Lee will enjoy this live recording very much.
