Langhorne Slim, a pioneer of raw, groundbreaking Americana for more than two decades, goes far beyond the boundaries of the genre he himself co-founded.
On „The Dreamin’ Kind”, the Nashville-based musician picks up the electric guitar and devotes himself to his long-standing love of larger-than-life rock ‘n’ roll. With its pounding power chords, 1970s-style riffs and rich arrangements, „The Dreamin’ Kind” is driven not only by sheer amplification, but also by the soul-searching songwriting that has also become Slim’s trademark.
In between these anthems are acoustic-heavy songs that teeter on the edge of folk music, from the stark heartbreak of „Stealin’ Time” to the organic, orchestral sweep of „Dance On Thru”. The result is the most experimental and expansive album of Slim’s career: a record made for rock clubs, campfires and garages alike, produced by Sam Kiszka of Greta Van Fleet and fueled by a lifelong desire to break down new walls.
