With playful ease and a jazz-rock, sometimes rhythmically intricate drive, the Kusimanten blend alpine and Eastern European folklore into downright experimental art song passages. At the center of the listener’s attention is the breathtaking voice of the exceptional talent born in Odessa, Ukraine in 1988, Tamara Lukasheva.
With infectious enthusiasm, the trio – earthy and inventive Marie-Theres Härtel on viola, multifaceted and powerful Tamara Lukasheva on vocals, virtuosic and melodious Susanne Paul on cello – presents the greatest gems of Kusimantik: haute couture for the ears. Recorded at Bauer Studios on January 14th, 2021, by Philipp Heck.
