STUDIO KONZERT is the audiophile Direct-To-2-Track fully analogue recorded concert series, produced by the Bauer Studios since early 2013 and available in shops as numbered and limited 180g vinyl records with a premium-quality packaging. After their tribute to Jimi Hendrix, the trio Journal Intime return with their third album EXTENSION DES FEUX, driven by a desire to create music for an unusual combination of instruments. On this recording, Journal Intime are joined by prestigious guests: leading avant-garde guitarist Marc Ducret and premier accordionist Vincent Peirani. Electric strings and accordion reeds blend beautifully with the characteristic brass and orchestral textures of the trio.
From the pen of Frédéric Gastard, the repertoire of protean music, with closely intertwined written and improvised parts, takes the listener on a journey through a multi layered sound tapestry of rich and complex orchestrations. These include electric and organic chamber music, free jazz, rock and contemporary music. Journal Intime strive to create musical arrangements that evoke the fires raging through our troubled times. Music written and played with an urge to invent, resist and demonstrate the power of the ‘Extension of the Fires’ (Extension Des Feux).
