Guitarist Jim Robitaille adds guitar synthesizer to his arsenal on this trio record with Tom Casale/bass and Chris Poudrier/drums. The result is an album that is highly orchestral, almost Methenyesque in it’s ideas. The synth effects meld around Casale on the mellow “Stratus” and float over the rhythmic sing-songy lilt during “Anthem”. The team digs down and rocks on an assertive read of “All Blues” with some lovely organic ideas from Casale on a fragrant take of “ Central Park West. The team digs in on “ Pulse” and gets impressionistic around some bowed bass on “New Moon”. A light fuse of fusion.
