Leírás

Glamm Rock, Art Pop, New Wave, Synthpop, Post-Punk,
Klasszikus 1981-es FM rádiós koncert teljes anyaga.

Formed in 1974 in Catford, South London by David Sylvian (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Steve Jansen (drums) and Mick Karn (bass guitar), Japan were joined by Richard Barbieri (keyboards) and Rob Dean (lead guitar) the following year. Initially an alternative glam rock-inspired collective, Japan developed their sound and androgynous look to incorporate electronic music and foreign influences. The band achieved success in the late 1970s and early 1980s, releasing nine UK Top 40 hits. They split in December 1982, just as they were beginning to experience commercial success in the UK and abroad.

Initially signing with Hansa-Ariola, upon their departure Japan joined Virgin Records, who released their studio albums, „Gentlemen Take Polaroids” in 1980 and Tin Drum in 1981. Between these respective releases, Japan toured consistently, and among their finest concerts was that undertaken at London’s Hammersmith Odeon on February 7th 1981, where they played a quite exceptional show which was recorded for live radio broadcast. Previously unreleased this stunning broadcast recording is now finally available on this new CD, allowing fans to finally hear one of Japan’s most revered live performances.
