In 1980 he joined post-punk band The Tea Set, recording an album and several singles and gigging extensively including supports for U2, Iggy Pop, The Clash and XTC. Nicks solo album „The Great Indoors” was released on Bam Caruso records in 1987. Singles from it included ‘Back in Time for Tea’, 2019 after a number of years as a lecturer Nick has returned to music with self released music. Official reissue of “The Great Indoors”, the acclaimed masterpiece of English Psychedelic, originally released in 1987 on the fabled Bam-Caruso label. Includes an extra CD with demos and rarities. Originally released on the same week as the first ever reissue of Sgt. Pepper’s on CD, The Guardian review read: “The best release this week is not the reissue of Sgt Pepper’s but the debut album by Nick Haeffner.”
Along with the original ten track album, a bonus CD of additional music is included. Rare 12” singles only sides, early demos for The Great Indoors, demos for the intended follow-up album Dali Parton, as well as previously unreleased new recordings. A booklet with notes and pictures rounds off the package.
A new album by Nick Haeffner is also out now. Entitled A New Life Awaits You, it’s a haunting new collection of songs and instrumentals. The album is a worthy successor to The Great Indoors, showcasing Nick’s talents as a writer, guitarist and producer, drawing on his encyclopaedic knowledge of folk, rock, pop and experimental music.
