Drummer Gard Nilssen’s ECM debut comes after his highly acclaimed recordings with the Maciej Obara Quartet and Mathias Eick.
„Elastic Wave” presents Nilssen’s powerful trio with fellow Norwegian André Roligheten on saxophone and Swedish bassist Petter Eldh (recently heard with Kit Downes).
The group’s dynamic interplay, their danceable pulse and their distinctive themes – all three players contribute compositions – make Acoustic Unity one of the most interesting bands on the scene today.
The trio interprets stirring anthems and understated ballads with equal measures of verve and conviction. „Elastic Wave” was recorded in June 2021 at La Buissonne Studios in the South of France.
