Zealous Chicago punks Edging may not yet be on the tip of everyone’s tongues when it comes to the most exciting new bands out there, but they won’t stay that way for long. With a fiercely independent spirit they’ve carved out their own lane, doing everything on their own terms while remaining completely unique. They’ve already self-released two LPs, toured extensively both solo and alongside the likes of Lambrini Girls, Bushfire, and are gearing up for an upcoming run with Amyl & the Sniffers this October.
Equal parts unhinged fun and controlled chaos, Edging balances light hearted absurdity with a raw, confrontational energy. Beneath it all is a band of serious musicians, melding technical precision with total spontaneity, driven by lyrics that take a direct, no-filter stance against the world’s uglier sides. Edging return with the announcement of their third studio album “UNLOAD YOUR SHAME”. The first co-release for the band with HEX Records from Portland,OR. On this record Edging pushes everything they’ve built into their most fully realized and explosive material yet, doubling down on their signature saxophone-drenched, anything-goes punk.
On “UNLOAD YOUR SHAME” Edging leans into the sexualized kitsch of earlier releases.
The tracks thread together with warped video game samples and interludes that give it a strange, cohesive pulse from beginning to end. Recorded in spring of 2025 at Jam Town Studios (Philadelphia, PA), and Spring of 2026 at Palisade Studios (Chicago, IL). Engineered and Produced by Evan Bernard and mastered by the legendary Howie Weinberg the album captures a perfect balance of grit and clarity. Every chaotic layer hits with purpose. The songs are short, the music is fast, the vocals are howled, and the saxophone is absolutely wailing! Edging has no intention of slowing down in 2026, with heavy touring plans already in motion. Catch them unload their shame and chances are, you might feel compelled to as well. The album is out everywhere June 5th 2026.
