Ebow first attracted recognition at guerilla-gigs at Munichs area around the station, at laundrettes, supermarkets or trams. After first press reactions (Süddeutsche, Bayrischer Rundfunk etc.) many live converts at more conventional stages followed. With the self-produced, half-hourlong video-mixtape „Habibi’s Liebe und Kriege [Habibi’s love and war]) Ebow locates herself between hip hop and oriental sounds and packs social reality into feisty lyrics, from gender roles in the Turkish community, fake patriotism to issues like arms trade. On „K4L“, Ebow’s new studio album, everything revolves around communities. In rejection of topics like the so often overrepresented ego in rap music, K4L abets it’s identity from the family (K4L), from the clique (slang), the common ground of migration experiences (AMK) or the queer community (Butterflies).
