On their latest album the Norwegian duo pushes some of the hard hitting, mechanically textured aesthetics
of their previous release „Fullstendig Brent” to the forefront. A dystopian commentary on the risks inherent
to the antagonistic nature of humankind, and how the overwhelming and uncertain scope of Industry 4.0 –
of progressively more powerful technology and strong AI – may end up amplifying those risks beyond human control.
Given this conceptual framework, DÖDSMASKIN have aimed to develop a sound palette that shifts between both droning and pulsating brutality that represents unstoppable forces in motion and bleak atmospheres that denote an age of growing futility and – ultimately – self-inflicted extinction.
