„Mixed messages” features vocals by Sophie Barker best known for her work with Zero 7, as well as Grooverider and Groove Armada. Also featured is guitarist James „Spike” Bastard. His playing Is like a sweet Mandinka style which is very hypnotic. He developed his style of playing in Bamako Mali working with Salif Keita and many other artists and musicians in West Africa. The Kora player featured on the track is none other than the great Kaouding Cissoko, one of the greatest exponent of the Kora of his generation. He has worked with artists such as Youssou Ndour , Baaba Maal , Brian Eno , Peter Gabriel and many more Artists and musicians .
