The band was conceived in the mid-nineties when Ingar Amlien’s former band Conception was still at its peak. During the early years COD release 4 albums (“Quench My Thirst”, “Sinister Scenario”, “The Ogress”, “Project Regeneration”) breaking the borders between Black, Gothic and Death Metal. In 2003 they ink a deal with My Kingdom Music and release “Evil Knows Evil”, followed by the consecration in 2007 with “Give Us The Power To Do Your Evil”. After this, a new masterpiece of extreme Black Metal was created: it’s “In The Presence Of Death”. On February 2013 they release the album that was promoted with an European tour with Shining (SE). After this C.o.D. records a little jewel called “Evil Messiah” released on February 2015 that permitted the band to tour with MARDUK.
The year 2016 is the anniversary that celebrates 20 years from the first C.o.D. release. It’s the time for “Welcome
The Dead” with which the band shows their dark world. The next two years are for the live with a tour with HORNA in Europe and a minitour in Italy. The year 2019 will be signed by a new great album: “The God Of Flesh”. With it the band expresses the heaviest and most personal album of their career. My Kingdom Music releases it on October 25th and will be again at band’s side capturing the essence of their work pushing Crest Of Darkness to new levels.
- CREST OF DARKNESS moved the barriers again with “The God Of Flesh”, the new full-length album from the Norwegian Black Metal veterans. This is the heaviest, darkest and most personal album of their career with a band at its 110% with Amlien (CONCEPTION, ROQUEFIRE, AMLIEN’s INFERNO) on bass and vocals, Rebo on guitars, and Berhard (ex-PALE FOREST) on drums.
This time the band has expanded the feel, variety and depth of their music, showing to be as much at home with more progressive elements, as they are the with the aggressive and dark, brutal side, for which they are known. With “The God Of Flesh” CREST OF DARKNESS create a musical vortex from which there is no escape. Now they have reached the point: this is the evil, this is the beast, this is the dead.
