The long overdue debut LP from Cardiff-based „singist” Suzi Chunk is a collection of songs written by Glenn Prangnell and the brief was simple; to come up with the kind of record they don’t make anymore.
Four of the tracks have already
seen the light of day [„For The Millionth Time” (The Offbeats), „Look Back And Laugh” (The Kravin’ A’s), „No Stone Unturned” and „Got Any Mantras?”(Groovy Uncle)], while the rest have been written especially with Suzi in mind.
Anyone who has heard the pre-album single, „Look Back And Laugh” / „Tripwire” [fans include BBC6 Music’s Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie], will instantly recognise the „beat era swagger” of backing band Groovy Uncle and the soulful beauty of Suzi’s vocal work.
