Remastered CD reissue of rare as hell 1970 heavy blues rock from the Netherlands with warm smoldering lead guitars. Burning Plague‘s self-titled 1970 debut album provided a flashpoint for Belgium’s burgeoning blues rock scene, ramping up the intensity so far at various points that it verged on heavy. It wasn’t quite enough to make the band famous, but their ballsy blues rock played through massive 100-watt Marshall stacks has made the original LP a highly-coveted collector’s item that now commands princely sums.
After many shoddy bootlegs, Pseudonym Records is proud to present the first legitimate reissue, 24-bit remastered from the original tapes with the full cooperation of the band. This edition reproduces the original artwork and includes a detailed biography by Doug Sheppard of Ugly Things magazine. The CD and download editions include a bonus track (Shuffle On) by a new, revitalized Burning Plague lineup, which upholds the quality of the old material.
