The seventies produced a string of great albums, mostly tinged with an acoustic, jazzy, even folky flavour, until, in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s she found her way into a more pop orientated sound, which is the point at which this collection finds her. Produced by the ever reliable Steve Lillywhite, „Walk Under Ladders” was Joan’s eighth LP and comfortably reached the UK’s Top Ten, and peaking at number 6 on its release in 1981.
