New Brunswick’s favourite bluesman is wrapping up a new album, his first since the award-winning Coal Mining Blues from 2011. It’s going to be called Weightless, and will be release on January 28, 2014.
There’s some significant muscle behind the album, as its being produced by Steve Berlin, of the Grammy-winning group Los Lobos. Berlin has a long association with East Coast artists, having produced work for Great Big Sea, Nathan Wiley and Stephen Fearing, as well as Crash Test Dummies, The Tragically Hip and many more. The album is being described as full of Andersen’s guitar dexterity, as well as moments of reflective blues and soul.
