Aiwass, the Aleister Crowley-obsessed psychedelic doom project out of the American Southwest, has stretched beyond the soul-shaking soundscapes of its highly revered debut-album ‘Wayward Gods’ to deliver ‘The Falling’, a genre-bending experience with towering riffs, heart-wrenching melodies, layered instrumentation and meticulous attention to detail. Fans of Electric Wizard, AAWKS, and Yob will find solace in the album’s heaviest and most vulnerable moments.
The album was co-produced by recurring King Buffalo collaborator Grant Husselman. Across 5 songs in 40 minutes, The Falling bends reality with blaring organs, bittersweet harmonies, and monolithic riffs with metaphysical heft. Carrera crafts doom with a bruised soul that beckons the listener to commiserate and connect deeply.
