The LP „Walk Beyond the Dark”, released via Agonia, is now available as a double sky blue vinyl edition 2LP, bringing together the seven tracks of the 2019 album on a single, uniform pressing. The record faithfully reproduces the complex arrangements and expansive song lengths, with material ranging from open, melodic passages to dense, drum and bass driven intensity. Musically, the album operates in the realm of atmospheric black metal, where cold, frosty guitar layers merge with modern harmonies that at times recall death and post-black metal. Ken Sorceron’s vocals shift between harsh, distorted delivery and more restrained, melodic moments, resulting in a distinctive expression that communicates both pitchblack darkness and a sense of melancholic expanse.
Critics have highlighted the balance between driving passages and atmospheric interludes. This release is defined by its personnel and production: Ken Sorceron acted as producer and creative driving force; recording took place in several studios, with mixing and mastering by Lasse Lammert. Contributors include Bryan O’Sullivan on bass, Mike Heller on drums, and Kakophonix on cello, with additional guitar parts supplied by Andrew Markuszewski and Justin McKinney.
