This disc features the cream of their early 1980’s recordings whilst the band were touring the USA.
I Married a Martian, Tips For Teens, Wacky Women and Upstairs were all originally featured on 1981’s „Whomp That Sucker” album whilst Sextown, USA, Mickey Mouse, I Predict, Moustache, Eaten By The Monster Of Love and the title track are all drawn from 1982’s „Angst In My Pants”. The latter two songs were also featured on the soundtrack to the 1983 comedy movie „Valley Girl”.
Wish I Looked a Little Better, All You Think About Is Sex and Cool Places are from one of Sparks’ most successful albums in the USA, 1983’s „In Outer Space”, which reached number 88 on the Billboard Charts.
Finally, Modesty Plays is notable in that it only appeared (other than as a single) on the French version of the album. The song was originally conceived for the TV series Modesty Blaise – the 1960’s comic-strip heroine, which neatly brings the Sparks story back full-circle to their Pop-Art roots!
