Ever since winning the Dutch National Guitar Awards at the age of 13 (the only contestant under 18) Marcel Singor has been a household name in the dutch world of virtuoso leadguitar.
Afterbeing a very young stuntguitarist in a number of bands throughout the 1980’s, marcel spend the 1990’s and the 2000’s honing his live and recording craft, appearing on an impressive and diverse list of national and international artists album’s and gigs. Meanwhile Marcel never stopped demoing solo recordings of his own, eventually resulting in the release of two albums of bands fronted by Singor: Xam (1997) and Maxville (recorded in 2000,released in 2002).
Although „Futureproof” is Marcel Singor’s first actual solo album, it’s also his first genuine collaboration. The album is definitely the sound of the best of two seemingly different worlds coming together. At first glance an unlikely mix of styles but Bron’s very own brand of synth-heavy retro-futuristic production leaves plenty of room for Singor’s dazzling, lead guitarwork, characteristic but accessible vocals/harmonies and always imaginative and melodic sense of songwriting.
